The progression from Child’s Pose to Sphinx flows comfortably as the body is grounded in a prone position. Sphinx is a nice precursor to Bow because it is a gentler backbend and the body does not have to move much to transition from Sphinx to Half Bow to Bow.
In Half Bow it’s nice to offer the variation where the palm is turned out so your students can experiment with greater chest opening in a less intense shape. Then when they progress to Bow they can choose if they want to keep the palms turned out or in.
After Bow we Child’s Pose again. This time for a bit longer to further grounding as class slows.
